Makeover Monday 2020 - Week 21

This weeks Makeover Monday task was to recreate a viz looking at the US music industry over the last 40 years. A lot has changed in that time, with vinyl, casette tapes and CDs all having phases of dominance. But with the digital revolution, music streaming has now taken over and his a huge part of how the music industry now makes money.

For this weeks viz, I used an area chart to show the total revenue of the music industry over time, with a few annotated points highlighting key moments in time. Under that I looked at the rise of CDs compared to streaming, and how we might be just seeing the start of music streaming as we know it.

Hope you like the Viz and any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
